We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Rainbow Families to design an online course for educators on the ECA Learning Hub. This course, titled: Beyond the Rainbow: Making a difference for all families is designed to empower educators to become confident in educating children about family diversity, including LGBTQ+ parented families. This learning module is free to all educators on the ECA Learning Hub.
All families are different and all education and care services need to be proactive in designing welcoming environments and are actively planning for education on family diversity, even if the service does not yet have many or any diverse families.
In conjunction with this learning module, ECA and Rainbow families have curated a collection of children’s books to support early childhood services in taking the first steps to reduce disadvantage for all families. By using these resource packs, educators can create meaningful opportunities for children to explore, engage and ask questions about family diversity.
