Learning outcomes 
In this course, participants will:
- explore why certain behaviours occur
- learn how to understand certain behaviours
- discover some of the differences in development that children with Autism Spectrum Disorder can experience
- uncover pro-active strategies to support individual children’s positive behaviour and advocate for children with special rights.
Completing An insight into Autism Spectrum Disorder in the early years (2-part series) will contribute 3 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Students/children with Disability addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 1.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

It is the state’s longest serving and most experienced agency in providing specialised support services for people of all ages living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. These services include the delivery of early intervention, education and training as well as therapy and respite care.
