Description
In this course, participants will:
- explore why certain behaviours occur
- learn how to understand certain behaviours
- discover some of the differences in development that children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder can experience
- uncover pro-active strategies to support individual children’s positive behaviour and advocate for children with additional needs.
Understanding Behaviour: Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder will contribute 1 hour of PD addressing standard 3.5.2 and 7.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

It is the state’s longest serving and most experienced agency in providing specialised support services for people of all ages living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. These services include the delivery of early intervention, education and training as well as therapy and respite care.
