Description
Every child has the right to be safe, heard and protected from harm. This course introduces early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals to the essential concept of child safe organisations. Rooted in the findings of major national inquiries, the course explains why all organisations working with children must commit to safeguarding children’s rights and wellbeing. Participants will explore the 10 National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, learn how to apply these in practice, and reflect on how everyone has a role to play in creating a culture of safety. Through case studies, reflective questions and practical tools, this course empowers individuals and teams to take active steps towards embedding child safety in every aspect of their service.
Designed to fit within a framework of training and support that builds a child-safe culture, this course is designed for all people working in education and care settings and should be completed annually to support a strong, consistent foundation for child-safe practice.
