Schematic Play

 Schematic Play

Schemas play an important role in children’s learning and development, rooted in Piaget’s pioneering work from 1923. This book from the Everyday Learning Series explores how schematic patterns of behaviour reflect a child’s natural urge to explore and learn. It provides a clear explanation of what schemas are, why they are essential for children’s development, and the nine central schemas observed in young children’s play. Additionally, it offers insights into understanding behaviour through schema theory and practical tips for supporting schematic play.
