Description
This is the second of two revised and updated Everyday Learning Series titles on children’s rights. Book 2 expands on educators’ important responsibility to guide children in learning about their rights as citizens and to raise awareness of this commitment among educator teams, children and families.
The topics covered in this book connect with the Articles in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the key documents guiding educators’ work with children, families and communities. Practical strategies, case studies, links with the UN Conventions and reflective questions are included throughout the book’s sections to support educators as they reflect and become more intentional about embedding children’s rights across all aspects of their program or service.
Topics in this book include:
- teaching and learning with children about rights and responsibilities
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives
- advocacy and activism
- inclusive, rights-based practices.
